I would like to tell you about my 15th birthday party. It was a really memorable occasion.
My mother and me had started our preparations a week before the event. I had decorated my house with coloured lights and balloons. My mom had made an enormous birthday cake and a lot of delicious food.I was lucky to be born on the 2nd of January, that’s why a big Christmas tree always stands in my flat on my birthday.
My friends started arriving at about 11 o’clock. There weren’t a lot of people – just three my best friends – but we made a lot of noise! At first we tasted all the dishes and then began to play different games like Twister and made great mess. We laughed, told jokes – in a word, had a really good time.

Then we decided to go to the hill to ride down from it. We enjoyed our adventure very much and a photographer paid his attention on us. He suggested to take some photos. Of course we agreed! After that we came back to my home and have delicious tea with my birthday cake. At about 7p.m. my guests went home.

It was certainly the best birthday party I have ever had and my friends share my thought. I think we will remember it for all our lives.
P.S. the photos that were made that day appeared some weeks later in our city newspaper.

I would like to tell you about St. Valentine’s Day in Ukraine.
Many countries celebrate this holiday on the 14th of February. Ukrainian people started doing it not long ago, they borrowed this tradition from America. This modern-day holiday is a celebration of a Roman priest Valentine who secretly performed wedding ceremonies for Christian couples in the 3rd century.

Weeks before the 14th of February shop windows are decorated with red paper hearts, red streamers, figures of Cupids and boxes of chocolates. People are busy looking for the gifts for their sweethearts, friends, their nearest and dearest. You can either buy a present or make it with your own hands. The most popular are the cards with images of Cupids, roses or hearts and words of love and appreciation – so called “valentines’ they are traditionally not signed.

St. Valentines Day is a holiday when boys and girls, sweethearts and lovers, husbands and wives, even office staff exchange greetings of affection, undying love or satirical commitments in a quick, slick, modern way with a valentine card, SMS or an e-mail message.
“I’ll be your sweetheart if you will be mine
All of your life I’ll be your Valentine..”

Also in the evening many couples choose to dine at romantic restaurants while others enjoy spending free time together at home.
Valentine’s Day is a time to let people know how much you love and appreciate them. It’s a day that makes everyone feel romantic and happy. It’s very important to know that you are not alone, that somebody loves you and cares.

It encourages you to show you care

And I was encouraged on Valentine's
