Chernihiv

Chernihiv is located in the north of Ukraine. It is a small town which villages are located around. The picturesque views of this city give colorfulness and aesthetics that many tourists like.

Firstly, most people prefer having walks in order to enjoy the beautiful views, get more fresh air and cheer yourself up.

Secondly, in our city there are many beautiful places where you can go with your friends or family.

Thirdly, there are breathtaking views from tower blocks, multi-storey car parks, modern bus stops, fountains and more shopping centers.

Perhaps there are cities that are more attractive and developed than Chernihiv but at least this one is very comfortable, safe and nothing prevents you from having enjoyable life in this city.

Now you and I will consider how real and serious the problem of gender-based stereotyping is in our lives.

Let's start with distinguishing what gender stereotypes are. These are the stereotypical perceptions of society that persons of a certain sex should or should not be.

I want to give some of the most striking examples of gender-based stereotyping. The most unjustified one, in my opinion, is the stereotype that a girl with white hair is stupider than others, and because of this stereotype, some people do not take blondes seriously.

Also, there is a widespread stereotype in society about the division of women's and men's responsibilities that a man should be a "hunter" and a woman a "guardian". Personally, I disagree with this stereotype so much because both men and women are primarily individuals who need development and self-improvement.

Where do gender-based stereotypes come from?

Let's start with the fact that these stereotypes appeared decades ago. At that time it was considered the norm, these stereotypes were passed down from generation to generation and have survived to our times, but, fortunately, most people today do not follow these stereotypes and listen only to their personal opinions.

I believe that these gender-based stereotypes need to be eradicated. How can we do that? You need to demonstrate the opposition with specific examples. I believe that together we will be able to eradicate this global problem until there will be only a few or dozens people who will still follow gender stereotypes.

Have you ever tried doing the week’s competition?

Honestly, it is exciting and amazing. Sadly, there is a negative side of it. There are many unfair gender-based stereotypes concerning the interests and attitudes of adolescence. I can reliably report some of these common stereotypes and challenges by explaining why they are untrue and unfair.

First, there is a discrimination between teenagers. Many people think that the boys are faster and stronger than girls. It is not completely true. Some women can be much more physically active.

One of gender-based challenges is that peers, parents, teachers and coaches play a great role in adolescence stereotyping. They can convince girls to be less interested in sports. Also sometimes males and females have different fees and might have different coaches and staff to support them to become stronger and fitter. As far as I am concerned with this topic, I would encourage everyone to not believe these common stereotypes. It is not right to argue that men are able to do more exercises for one workout. It all depends on a person’s physical abilities.

To sum up, people with gender stereotypes aren’t always conscious and often introduce overly simplistic generalizations. We are challenging gander stereotypes more but as our research shows they still exist especially around types of sports. What can be done in order to fight these? If girls can get past these challenges, they are more likely to become more active in a range of sports. I believe people will use their common sense to get rid of common stereotypes.

Nowadays all of us have heard about some discrimination. This theme is the most discussed on the Internet and everywhere.  Some facts:

-There is no region, country, or culture where women are not subjected to violence;

-It will take 81 years to fully get rid of gender inequality;

-There is no country where women earn as much as men.

Girls should be pretty and shy, boys should be strong and independent. That is an old stereotype that is nearly dead now. Generations thought that women must stay at home, always cook and clean the house, give birth to children. They couldn’t have their business and manage people, because that is a man’s work. If you are still thinking so, let’s remember Angela Merkel, Michel Obama, Sara Blakely. Initially, they are ones of the most influential women.

If you are older, you are more intelligent. Fortunately, this stereotype is also going away. But, there are a lot of examples, when employers prefer workers with wide experience. But if everyone requires work experience, where should I get that? Of course, I don’t want to say that elder people are less qualified, no. They are not ready to change their qualifications and workstyle, though. That can become an obstacle as more new technologies are implemented in all spheres of human activities which need young perspective workers of a new generation. The way for the young! The way for the new life! The way for progress!

Finally, stereotypes are a relic of the past. All of them were invented by our ancestors according to their living conditions. There is the 21st century outside, luckily, most of them are not relevant. Let’s get rid of them forever!

Have you ever faced stereotypes? Most of us have faced them, but do they reflect our life? “Breaking stereotypes and breaking through prejudices is incredibly difficult, but also fantastically enjoyable,” said Jared Leto. This quotation is inspiring.

To begin with, the definition of a stereotype identifies it as any commonly known public belief about a certain social group or a type of individual. Stereotypes are often confused with prejudices, because, like prejudices, a stereotype is based on a prior assumption. Stereotypes are often created about people of specific cultures or races.

Firstly, there are a lot of stereotypes about gender. Men are often told that men are strong and can do all the work. People claiming that do not take into account a persons’ state.

As for women, there are many untrue and unfair stereotypes, such as “Women aren't as smart as men”. It is one of the very popular stereotypes. It is not true because if you read some scientific articles you will find that women's’ brains are more complicated than men's. “Girls are not good at sports”, many girls have heard it. Like the first stereotype, which I mentioned, everything depends on physical state.

Secondly, as for stereotypes about cultures. All these stereotypes can be refuted by saying that the nation a person belong to does not always affect their character and actions, so they are usually untrue.

To sum up, stereotypes will follow us in the future if we do not do anything to get rid of them. Let’s hope that future generations will get rid of them.

A stereotype is an over-generalized belief about a particular category of people. It is an expectation that people might have about every person of a particular group.

Nowadays any society stereotypes teenagers in such a way that every teenager seems to be inclined to be bad. In my opinion, society bases their stereotypes on the teens they come into contact with as well as the ones that stand out from the rest. Teenagers are believed to be obnoxious and ignorant; which is also tied in with disrespectful. People believe that teens are rebellious, immature, and they are the trouble for their parents. People tend to think teens are violent, reckless, and lazy. When a person thinks of teenagers, they think of a person who is just looking for a chance to disobey and a strict eye should be kept on them.

However, not all teenagers are like that. Some may fall into the afore mentioned criteria, however many tend not to. Many teens are mature and act their age. They don’t prove to be trouble for their parents; in fact, most of them are their parent’s favourites. Such as my cousin, who is the model daughter. Many teens are also respectful of their parents and other people. They are – we are – well behaved. This further proves the point that not all teens’ fall into the stereotypical category. Believing in a stereotype has its disadvantages.

For example, we often characterize adolescents as impulsive, reckless and emotionally unstable. We used to attribute this behavior to “raging hormones.” More recently, it’s been popular in some scientific circles to explain adolescent behavior as the result of an imbalance in the development of the brain. Besides, many people argue that teenagers are selfish. Teenagers are no more selfish than anyone else. If some do behave selfishly, it’s probably because they’re spoilt. And why does that happen? Because in our society everything is judged by its cash value.

Nobody likes being judged because of a stereotype. Nobody wants to be known as someone they are not. Teenagers want their voice heard and with these stereotypes. However nobody’s listening because they don’t want to. So the teens rebel, which just proves to everyone else that their ideas of teens are right; it is a vicious cycle. These stereotypes are so common that, now teens think that they, in general, are bad. For example, when teens are asked why they did something, they answer with, “I’m a teenager, it’s what I do. ”

Every adult, nowadays, sees teens as bad people.
