I have a brand-new DVD with all the series – I can give it to her as a present and we may watch it at the party. Bye, -

"Commando” Commando is a 1985 American action film starring Arnold Schwarzenegger, Vernon Wells, Rae Dawn Chong, Alyssa Milano, Bill Duke, Dan Hedaya and James Olson. It was directed by Mark L. Lester and shot on location in and around Los Angeles, California. The film was nominated for a Saturn Award in 1986 for Best Special Effects but lost to James Cameron's Aliens, another movie with music provided by James Horner from Commando Retired Special Forces operative John Matrix (Schwarzenegger) is informed by Major General Franklin Kirby (Olson) that all the other members of his unit have been killed by unknown mercenaries. Despite being given protection, the mercenaries, whose ranks include Bennett (Wells), a former member of Matrix's team fired for excessive brutality and presumed killed in the preceding assassinations, attack Matrix's secluded mountain home and kill the guards, kidnapping his daughter Jenny (Milano) in the process. When Matrix gives chase, he is also captured. Bennett explains that Matrix is needed to carry out a political assassination for Arius (Hedaya) (who calls himself "El Presidente" and his army of former U.S. soldiers and mercenaries. Arius is a warlord and dictator who was previously overthrown by Matrix. He now wishes to lead a military coup in his home country, Val Verde, and reasons that Matrix's familiarity with the country's new leader will aid in an assassination attempt. As Arius has Jenny, Matrix reluctantly accepts the demand.[2] After boarding an airplane to take him to Val Verde, Matrix instead kills his guard and jumps into a swamp just as the plane is taking off from the runway, then sets his watch timer for the approximate time of the flight. Subsequently, he commandeers an off-duty flight attendant Cindy's (Chong) car and eventually manages to enlist her help. After confronting (and killing) two of the mercenaries, Matrix learns where Arius' mansion is located (and where Jenny is presumably being held). He then breaks into a surplus store and steals a one-man arsenal of both small arms and heavy weapons. With Cindy's complicit help, he escapes from the police who have arrested him for breaking and entering the surplus army store. After commandeering a seaplane from a nearby marina run by Arius, Matrix and Cindy land the plane off the coast of the island where Arius is located. Matrix instructs Cindy to contact General Kirby and then proceeds to Arius' villa, fighting and killing Arius' private army on the way. He subsequently confronts and kills Arius in a gunfight. Matrix finds Jenny in the basement, but he is shot in the arm by Bennett. Matrix then taunts Bennett into facing him in a knife fight, an invitation Bennett cannot resist. After a fierce struggle, Matrix gains the upper hand and Bennett, defeated, reaches for a machine pistol, but is impaled with a steel pipe by Matrix before he can fire. After Kirby arrives with a military detachment, he offers Matrix another term of service in the Force. Matrix, however, declines and he, Cindy, and his daughter fly off back home.
"Twilight”
Twilight is a 2008 American romantic vampire film based on Stephenie Meyer's popular novel of the same name. Directed by Catherine Hardwicke, the film stars Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson. It is the first film in The Twilight Saga film series. This film focuses on the development of the relationship between Bella Swan (a teenage girl) and Edward Cullen (a vampire), and the subsequent efforts of Cullen and his family to keep Swan safe from a coven of evil vampires. Plot Seventeen-year-old Isabella "Bella" Swan moves to Forks, a small town near the Washington coast, to live with her father, Charlie, after her mother remarries to a minor league baseball player. She is quickly befriended by many students at her new high school, but she is intrigued by the mysterious and aloof Cullen siblings. Bella sits next to Edward Cullen in biology class on her first day of school; he appears to be disgusted by her, much to Bella's confusion. A few days later, Bella is nearly struck by a van in the school parking lot. Edward inexplicably moves from several feet away and stops the vehicle with his hand without any harm to himself or Bella. He later refuses to explain this act to Bella and warns her against befriending him. After much research, Bella eventually discovers that Edward is a vampire, though he only consumes animal blood. The pair fall in love and Edward introduces Bella to his vampire family, Carlisle, Esme, Alice, Jasper, Emmett, and Rosalie. Soon after, three nomadic vampires—James, Victoria, and Laurent—arrive. James, a tracker vampire, is intrigued by Edward's protectiveness over a human and wants to hunt Bella for sport. Edward and his family risk their lives to protect her, but James tracks Bella to Phoenix where she is hiding and lures her into a trap by claiming he is holding her mother hostage. James attacks Bella and bites her wrist, but Edward, along with the other Cullen family members, arrives before he can kill her. James is destroyed, and Edward sucks James's venom from Bella's wrist, preventing her from becoming a vampire. A severely injured Bella is taken to a hospital. Upon returning to Forks, Bella and Edward attend their school prom. While there, Bella expresses her desire to become a vampire, which Edward refuses. The film ends with Victoria secretly watching the pair dancing, plotting revenge for her lover James' murder.
The 9th Company (Russian: 9 Рота) is a 2005 Russian–Finnish–Ukrainian film directed by Fyodor Bondarchuk about the Soviet War in Afghanistan. The film follows a band of young recruits from a farewell ceremony with friends and family back home, through their often brutal training in Uzbekistan's Fergana Valley, up to a bloody battle on a mountain top in Afghanistan against the mujahideen. Description The film is loosely based on a real-life battle that took place at Hill 3234 in early 1988, during the last large-scale Soviet military operation Magistral. In the film, only one soldier from the company survives and the company is said to have been "forgotten" by the military command because of the Soviet withdrawal. But in reality, the story was different. The 9th Company, 345th Guards Airborne Regiment was pinned down under heavy fire on Hill 3234 between the 7th and 8th of January 1988. They managed to stop twelve attacks by an estimated 200?400 Mujahideen. The company lost six men. Another 28 out of the total 39 were wounded. Two of the killed soldiers were posthumously awarded the golden star of the Hero of the Soviet Union. The unit was in constant communication with headquarters and got everything the regimental commander, Colonel Valery Vostrotin, could provide in terms of ammunition, reinforcements, and helicopter evacuation of the wounded.[1] Directed by Fyodor Bondarchuk Produced by Alexander Rodnyansky Yelena Yatsura Sergey Melkumov Written by Yuri Korotkov Starring Fyodor Bondarchuk Aleksei Chadov Mikhail Evlanov Music by Dato Evgenidze Cinematography Maksim Osadchy Editing by Igor Litoninsky Budget $9,500,000 Gross revenue $25,555,809
